I’m outta here.
As I write this I am grumpy and cold. If all goes to plan, around the time you read this, I won’t be.
Instead, I’ll be walking a beach next to some of the most beautiful ocean I’ve ever seen.
I will ALSO be eating some awesome local food. We’re not ‘resort rats’ who stay at the hotel eating their noble attempt at local food. We like to eat where the locals eat – and shop in their grocery stores and bakeries. I assure you that I will be consuming some hot fresh baguette and butter with sel de mer.
I will still watch what I eat, weigh myself daily, and track what I have – which will include crepes at a little open air cafe that overlooks a bay, and perhaps some peach tart from the French bakery not too far from it.
The calm enjoyment of good food, whether carb-loaded or not, will be a big part of this vacation.
If you don’t think that this is acceptable on a low carb diet, then you don’t know how to diet – or even why you’re dieting in the first place.
Once there was a time when this was me. I’ve since learned better.
Best wishes to all of you in this holiday season, and may you have as my gift to you the calm enjoyment of good food with loved ones – the diet will be there when the holiday is over.
