Hi Alison,

While it's true that most broths add a bit of sugar, it's such a tiny bit that I wouldn't worry about it. Me - I buy something that's organic and doesn't have ingredients that sound like they came from a chemistry set - I'm more scared of them than a little sugar.

Regards,

LCC

I am back!! I have tried your easy crock pot chicken several times. I like it because it is so versital. I use the broth made from the crock pot for several days to cook my veggies in. *Day 1 - I used a cup of broth, a bag of spinach and some sliced mushrooms. *Day 2 - I used a cup of broth 1/2 of a medium cabbage and 1/4 of a green bell pepper. Day 3 - I used about 1/4 cup to stir fry some veggies in my wok. I have so much broth because I use a large crock pot and I add two cans of water to your recipe. If I have any remaining broth, I usually just drink it up. Again, I appreciate you sharing something so simple yet so helpful.

Funny! I think you're right about coconut milk & I had a very similar experience yesterday trying to make creamed spinach with coconut milk. YUCK. I kept adding ingredients (ginger, sesame oil, garlic, bacon) it kept getting worse. Even my husband (who is usually extremely kind and supportive of my cooking efforts) actually spit it out. I, at least, managed to eat 1/2 a serving. I felt terrible pouring the rest down the garbage disposal...but it was so bad I just didn't see any point in our usual ritual of making leftovers spoil in the fridge before it's okay to toss them.

1 received an email this morning and thought to myself I must try this. I looked at the VAT and that is charged on postage as well as the product. I telephoned the number given and the girl I spoke to assured me there is vat on postage /!ot to my Knowledge! I asked her if I could order 1 months supply she said this was not the way it worked as you need a constant supply. I was aware of that but felt I didnt want to commit to continual orders in case I found that it was as usual usless. That is what made me question it and googled irvingia and have read what you think and the varying comments from other people. I think it is a non starter but I will continue to watch your responses with interest. Thank you for all your thoughts on the subject it has helped me to reach a final decision. NO IRVINGIA for me for now, just watch the calories and keep off the wine and spirits.

I am one of those people who can barely tolerate artificial sweeteners - splenda gives me migraines and I had say goodbye to diet coke forever a few years ago.

One low carb option I have found that I really love is True Lemon (also comes in lime, orange and grapefruit).

It's basically crystallized lemon that you add to your water (plain or sparkling) and it's sooooo good. Not to mention no calories, no carbs and no sweeteners.

I buy mine at a health food store, as I live in Canada, but I have seen it in US Wal-Marts.

http://www.truelemon.com/

P.s. I realize I sound like I work for this company but honestly it is a great product, especially since it has no pesky carbs!

So glad you liked this recipe! We had just finished this exact dish for dinner when I saw your post, awesome.

Tonight I tried a variation adding ginger to the chicken and made a dipping sauce of soy sauce, ginger, garlic, green onions and sesame oil with a little water. Also good!

Thanks for the kudos, glad your gals enjoyed :)
